What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in — and improve your experience on subsequent visits.
Cookies We Use
We use essential and functional cookies to run the site, and analytics cookies to understand how it is used. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your data.

Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people actually read. We use it to decide what to build and which products to analyse next — nothing else.
- The cookies it sets are first-party. They are stored against decodelabel.com and are not used to follow you onto other websites.
- We do not send it who you are. No name, email address, account ID or scan history is passed to Google Analytics. What it records is a random identifier, the pages requested, and standard technical details such as approximate location, device and browser.
- We do not use it for advertising. Google Signals and advertising features are not enabled, and we run no ad platforms on this site.
- Google is a processor here, and also a controller of its own. Data collected through the tag is handled under Google's Privacy Policy, and may be processed outside India.
What We Do NOT Use Cookies For
- Behavioural advertising or retargeting
- Selling your browsing data to third parties
- Cross-site tracking — following you onto websites that are not ours
- Building a profile of you for anyone else's commercial use
Third-Party Scripts
Apart from Google Analytics, described above, we load no third-party advertising or social media scripts. The scripts we do load are:
- Google Analytics (gtag.js) — measurement only; sets the first-party
_gacookies listed above - Tailwind CSS CDN — a stylesheet with no tracking capability
- Alpine.js CDN — a JavaScript library with no tracking capability
- Google Fonts — typography only; Google may log your IP as part of their CDN service
- Razorpay — loaded only on the checkout page; Razorpay's own cookie policy applies there
How to Control Cookies
Essential cookies cannot be disabled without breaking core site functionality (login, form submissions). You can manage functional cookies in your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, install Google's Browser Add-on, or block third-party scripts in your browser or an extension. Opting out does not affect any part of the site — everything works exactly the same without it.
Clearing cookies will log you out of your Decode Label account and remove your recently-viewed product history.
localStorage
We use your browser's localStorage (not a cookie) to store your recently-viewed products entirely on your device. This data is never transmitted to our servers and is automatically removed when you clear your browser data.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this Cookie Policy if we change the cookies we use. Material changes will be notified via the website.
